A question for Puppey, my Dota role model.

United States
I really hope that Puppey can find time to read this. I would gladly take advice from anyone, but I kind of look up to Puppey  :nice:

Hello Puppey! I am a diehard Na'vi fan because the first games of competitive Dota I watched were the TI2 finals, and since then I have stuck with you guys. I started playing Dota around 7 or 8 months ago, and although I had a rough start, I really feel like I've come far. One of the things that helped me improve most was watching you guys play. Recently, over on the Dota 2 Reddit, an admin posted about an upcoming subreddit-wide League. I signed up and tried my hardest to get drafted by one of the captains, and I eventually was. We have had quite a few practice sessions now, and the actual tournament is coming up soon. Our first match is next Thursday.

At first, I was in the same position you are. I played support, and performed decently most of the time, even though most people I played with and against were far more experienced than me. Although after a while, our captain, who was our mid player, decided it would be easier to make decisions if he was playing support, and that someone else needed to take mid. I figured I would give it a go, so that's what I have played in our last couple practice sessions. Unfortunately, after a few rough games tonight, my team ended up getting rather frustrated because of a game where a Templar Assassin snowballed out of control. Now they are thinking of switching me to the carry role.

My question for you, Puppey, is why do I not do well enough? I am feeling pretty discouraged after tonight, and I am scared that if I don't do well as a carry that my team is going to struggle, and it will be mostly my fault. How do you guys over on Na'vi overcome your discouragement when you don't do well? (For example, TI2 or the Alienware Cup, both of which you did badly in the group stages and then did very well in the later stages)

If Puppey, or any member of Na'vi is reading this, I would appreciate it a lot if you could tell me how you overcame your struggles in Dota. Thanks!  :)
