Da Rechenpower und Speicher vom eingesteckten Smartphone kommen, können die Macher des Casetop die Zahl der Elemente im Gehäuse reduzieren. Dafür liefern sie einen 11,6-Zoll-LED-Bildschirm, eine normalgroße Tastatur sowie einen zusätzlichen Akku mit, der das eingesteckte Handy wieder auflädt. Über 30 Stunden Laufzeit werden versprochen. Sollte die Kickstarter-Kampagne mehr als 500.000 US-Dollar einbringen, soll die Display-Auflösung auf 1.920 x 1.080 Pixel verbessert werden, aktuell sind 1.280 x 720 Pixel Akku FUJITSU Lifebook NH751 versprochen. Noch sinnvoller wäre ein Touchscreen, aber der ist erst ab 3 Millionen US-Dollar in Aussicht gestellt.
